Shortlisted for the Entrepreneur Award at the IW Chamber Business Awards 2025

I’m incredibly honored to be shortlisted for the Entrepreneur Award at the IW Chamber Business Awards 2025.

Entrepreneurship has been in my DNA since I was seven years old, from selling recorded tapes in the playground to building property companies to then businesses that create real impact. Being shortlisted for the Entrepreneur Award at the IW Chamber Business Awards 2025 is a huge honor and a moment to reflect on the journey so far.

For me, being an entrepreneur isn’t just about launching businesses…it’s about solving problems, creating opportunities, and helping others grow. Over the years, I’ve built multiple ventures, failed, learned invaluable lessons, and connected with incredible people who have shaped my path.

Beyond my personal nomination, I’m also proud to share that one of my companies, Red Squirrel Property Shop, has been shortlisted for the Social Impact Award. Our mission has always been about driving positive change, and seeing this recognised is truly special.

A huge congratulations to all the finalists! You can check out the full list of nominees here.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way…clients, partners, colleagues, and friends.

Win or lose, this is just the beginning. Excited for what’s next!

Business Reboot

Business Reboot: Key Steps to Overcome Setbacks and Succeed
Motivate and Train Your Team
A motivated and well-trained team is essential for any business aiming to thrive. Invest in employee development by offering training programs and opportunities for skill enhancement. Recognise and reward hard work to boost morale and productivity. Encourage open communication and create a supportive work environment. Engaged employees are more likely to come up with innovative ideas that can improve your business. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and appreciation, you can build a team that is committed to your company’s success.

Conduct a Comprehensive Financial Analysis
Start by carefully analysing your business’s financial health. Scrutinise your expenses and revenues to identify areas where costs can be cut without sacrificing quality. Look for unnecessary expenditures and find more cost-effective solutions. Renegotiate with suppliers for better rates and explore bulk purchasing to reduce costs. Regularly reviewing your financial statements and budget will help you stay on track and make informed decisions. By keeping a close eye on your finances, you can allocate resources more effectively and improve your bottom line.

Stay Ahead with Market Trends and Customer Needs
Understanding current market trends and customer needs is crucial for staying relevant and competitive. Conduct market research to identify changes in consumer behavior and preferences. Use surveys, focus groups, and social media insights to gather valuable data. Keep an eye on your competitors to see how they are adapting to market shifts. By staying informed, you can adjust your products or services to meet customer demands, ensuring you remain a preferred choice. Anticipating and responding to market changes will help you attract and retain customers.

A Journey to Everest Base Camp: Trekking Through the Himalayas

This was the final of my 13 challenges in 10 months in memory of my sister (link here) – https://www.gofundme.com/f/raise-awareness-of-zoe-panayi-zoes-law

A tough couple of weeks carrying this out and one of the most rewarding experiences of my life!!

We landed in Katmandu and spent a day sightseeing to the monkey temple, then relaxed to prepare for what was to come! Below is a breakdown of my experience on Mt Everest with Active Mountaineering.

Day 1: Lukla 2860m – Phakding 2610m

The adventure began with a breathtaking flight into Lukla (turns out this is the most dangerous airport in the world!), offering stunning views of the majestic mountains. After a quick tea break, the trek commenced, stopping for a delicious mixed pizza and chips lunch. We crossed three swing bridges and reached Pineforest Hotel, encountering a bit of rain towards the end.
